The project Wild Sound intends to emphasize the essential and wilder side of making music: the Francesco Pinetti Ensemble counts eight musicians (most of them really young) who firmly believe in this aspect of art and life is a perfect example of this choice. The arrangements of the pieces, too peculiar to be labelled under any musical trend or influence, confer to each of them a special and unique spirit that always evokes: 1. the "natural" sound of the ensemble and the tone that emerges from the splendid fusion of the different instruments; 2. the "wild" side of the sound, always performed with an eye on the core of the musical composition and on its basics. The listeners will not be able to keep away from the temptation of penetrating this sort of wild garden (neither hostile nor dangerous) in order to find a dimension of essentiality and share the sensation of freedom that only such a natural music is capable of inspiring. One of the pieces, for example, consists only of the pure melody chanted by a blackbird in spring (Merland). An easy way of approaching to music, then, that will not fail to impress the wildest side of those who will dare to listen to it.

Luckily, nobody asked me to do it. We all are used to run right to the point. Who makes music, and who listens to it, they all do the same thing: they take pleasure directly out of music. If I'd try to tell you the trail that lead me to this CD, it could be just like you'd try to tell me about the other side of that trail, the one that leaded you too to this CD. There is no time far all the tales, it seems. To satisfy our natural need of tales, most of people prefers to buy best sellers, instead to listen to the people they meet everyday. So it goes in our world. The melody named "Gino", written to show to my friend Gino how music can be easy when you have a piano under your fingers, gave me the idea to name all the other melodies in the same way, I mean using the names of my friends. This CD was made using the VLHD standard recording. The final result is a superb work of art capable of taking the micro and macro dynamics, the range of the timbre and the intensity of the sound to levels unreached before.

Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, conductor: Maffeo Scarpis.  With this project the independent record company Velut Luna keeps on declaring its role of italian leader about CD's production with great female interpretes of jazz and blues, the Velut Luna's sophisticated ladies. Cheryl Porter is today one of the few real great jazz voices. Authoritative international critics define her like an interpreter able to join together Sarah Vaughan's strength and the Shirley Bassey's vocal power . In this cd Cheryl Porter has the role of ideal protagonist, able to guarantee the interpretative authoritativeness that is necessary to succeed in reproposing sonorousness and atmosphere of great jazz records with orchestra produced by Capitol Records and Columbia between the end of the 50's and the beginning of 60's. Unforgettable pieces such as Bewitched, You've changed, You don't know what love is, Smile, Someone to watch over me, find again in this CD the original groove and the passion that made their immortal pages in musical culture of twentieth century. Essential to achieve the result are the original arrangements composed by Massimo Parente. The recording has been made live in the space of two days at Auditorium Pollini in Padua to recreate the unique sound of Capitol Records, mixing skillfully the most sophisticated digital technologies with "vintage" microphones and analogic tube stages.

The influences and cosmopolitan moods of deep atmosphere of authors such as Guarino and Mannucci, the viennese Gottwald, the southafrican Taljaard, the brazilian Da Costa Coelho, the israeli Paul Ben- Haim, the american Mustafa- Zadeh, the turkish Selman Adali are mixed with jazz of Chick Corea, Lyle Mays, Egberto Gismonti to guarantee the genesis of musical disturbance very close to an hurricane in Istanbul.

TARABUK DIALOGUE BETWEEN ACCORDION AND DOUBLE BASS

Full digital recording studio, Casalecchio di Reno (BO) Italy, recorded on September 2005. Marco Lo Russo, accordion, Tiziano Zanotti, double bass. Darabukke ( or tarabuka) is a chalice-like clay drum which was originally used by the pre-islamic Egyptian populations during their rituals. It is during a celebration that stories are told from generation to generation, and traditions and rites are rediscovered; where the music is the real protagonist, narrating faraway tales. There is no category for this music; contemporary sound, alive today while reminding of more or less ancient times here and elsewhere. There are no categories for the instruments; polyphonic and monodic, melodic and percussive, playing solo or in duo, always mixing the listening levels.
